US/Merced/CA – The Merced Police Department is trying to get a possible serial killer charged with the murder of a Merced woman.40 year old Ronald James Ward was already serving a life sentence for murder in Montana. Tuesday, he pleaded no contest to killing a New Jersey woman seven years ago.
Merced police say DNA and other evidence also connect Ward to the murder of Jackie Travis in 2000.
Officials are now trying to extradite him to face charges.
