US/MI/Lansing – The attorney for accused serial killer Matthew Macon tries to get his clients’ trial moved to another county. It’s a case that captured mid-Michigan’s attention this summer. Matthew Macon is suspected of brutally attacking six women. He’s now set to stand trial in three of those cases. His attorney requested that Macons’ trial be moved out of Ingham County because he believes media coverage has tainted potential jurors. Judge William Collette denied a motion to move the murder trials. He told the prosecution and the defense that if the county could pick a jury for the high profile trial of Tim and Lisa Holland, he’s confident it can find one for Matthew Macon.

US/MA/Worcester – Detectives investigating the deaths of five prostitutes from the Main South section of Worcester have never come out and said a serial killer is on the loose and preying on these women, although they have not ruled out that theory.
But while police seem reluctant to use the term “serial killer,” at least one national expert on such crimes is not so reticent. US/MI/Lansing – By the time Matthew E. Macon pleaded guilty at age 14 to sexually assaulting a girl with a stick, he had seen a lot of violence.
Court documents reveal that Macon’s father was violent and abusive. His older sister was placed in foster care in 1983 after her father was accused of sexually abusing her.
Then, by age 16, at a 1996 Ingham County juvenile court hearing, a court referee said although Macon was making progress in a program for sex offenders, he required “lifetime vigilance.” Read More »

US/MI/Lansing – Charges are handed down to a man Lansing police label a serial killer. It was Matthew Macons’ first courtroom appearance in this case, part of a video arraignment. Macon was charged with open murder for the death of Sandra Eichorn. She was found dead in her home just last week. Now, authorities are investigating whether the death of 34-year-old Lineida Olivera is connected to a serial killer.
